2014 Denver International Wine Competition Winners Announced
Judges awarded 276 medals in Rocky Mountains Largest Double-Blind Contest!

Denver, Colorado – June 17, 2014
Wine Country Network, Inc., producer of the 10th Annual Denver International Wine Competition and Festival, has released the list of winners for 2014.

Hundreds of wines from around the world competed in the largest double blind, professionally judged wine competition in the Rocky Mountain region.  Judges awarded 276 medals including Best of Show (highest scored), Double Gold and wine label designs.

Judges included some of the region’s top Sommeliers, wine writers and seasoned wine industry professionals

2013 Denver International Wine Competition Winners Announced

DENVER, Colo. (September 13, 2013) – Wine Country International Magazine has now posted the winners of the 2013 Denver International Wine Competition (DIWC) on its website: www.denverwinecomp.com.  Now in its 9th year, the DIWC took place Sept. 7-8 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colo.  More than 750 wines were entered by winemakers from all over the world, and a total of 261 medals were awarded, including two “Best of Shows” and 11 Double Golds.  Medal winners receive entry to the Denver International Wine Festival (DIWF), a wine and food festival showcasing more than 400 international wines from 18 countries, November 6-10. This year’s multi-day Festival and promises to be the best one yet, now in its new, more spacious location at the luxurious Omni Interlocken Resort, and bringing to Colorado not only exquisite food and wine, but also several special events with stars from the world of food and wine, including a new Julia Child Tribute Champagne Luncheon.

9th Annual Denver International Wine Festival November 6-10
 Festival offers award-winning vintners, White House and local celeb chefs, and a Julia Child Champagne Tribute this year

DENVER, Colo. (August 27, 2013) – The 9th Annual Denver International Wine Festival, a wine and food festival showcasing more than 400 international wines from 18 countries, will be held November 6-10, now in its new, more spacious location at the luxurious Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colo.  Wine Country International Magazine’s multi-day Festival brings to Colorado exquisite food and wine, and several special events with stars from the world of food and wine:
 
The festival’s first event is The Grand Vintners Dinner (Wednesday, November 6 at 6 pm,) a multi-course winemakers dinner featuring a prominent wine producer or wine region.  Tickets: $75 each

The signature culinary event, Pairsine Chef’s Food and Wine Pairing Competition
(Thursday, November 7 at 6 pm,) pairs Gold Medal winning wines from The Denver International Wine Competition with inventive cuisine prepared by some of America's most creative chefs. This year, very special guest chef John Moeller, a member of the elite corps of chefs who have served in the White House, competes alongside nine top Colorado chefs. Tickets include 20 wine and food pairing tastes: $100 each

The Grand Tasting of International Wines and Food (Friday, November 8 at 6-9pm,) is the region’s largest wine tasting event for consumers, media and trade, with more than 60 wineries, breweries and distilleries pouring, including premium spirits, sake, and craft beer – even a Belgium Beer Garden with gourmet food samplings.  Attendees enjoy delectable food and wine tastings, food products, wine accessories, and fine art.
The Festival opens two hours early for VIP ticket holders, who also receive exclusive entrance to the VIP lounge with chef stations and rare beverages, and complimentary admission to educational seminars and guided tastings. Tickets: $95-$215 each

VIP Tour of the Front Range Wineries (Saturday, November 9 from 10 am-4 pm) Christopher Davies, Editor in Chief of Wine Country International Magazine, leads a full-day tour, taking wine lovers behind the scenes of three of his favorite Colorado wineries, and a local micro-distillery.

Julia Child Tribute Champagne Luncheon (Sunday, November 10 at 12-2 pm)
The DIWF is honored to welcome Special Guest Host Madeleine de Jean, former Brand Ambassador for Château Mumm, and personal friend of Julia Child. De Jean will be leading an intimate Champagne Luncheon and Sabering Demonstration, featuring Julia Child's “All-American Menu,” pairedwith selections from many of the great Champagne houses known throughout the world. Tickets: $100 each

      The Denver International Wine Festival is pleased to announce that in 2010, we will again partner with The Foundation For Sight and Sound, a 501(c)3 non profit organization and their Help America Hear Program, which provides hearing aides to disadvantaged people with a hearing disability.

      The 2010 Denver International Wine Festival will donate a portion of ticket sales and 100% of the proceeds of all silent and live auctions to the Foundation for Sight and Sound. The Help America Hear Program was created in January 2009 and has since fitted 120 men, women & children nationwide with hearing aids. With the minimum cost of a hearing aid averaging $2,000, many individuals are unable to afford this necessary tool for improving their quality of life.

      On Wednesday November 3, 2010 the Foundation For Sight & Sound’s Help America Hear Program will be fitting 11 Denver area residents with hearing aids. This Hearing Medical Mission will take place at the

    Results of The 2010 Denver International Wine Competition Announced
    50% increase in wine submittals received. 170 medals awarded!

    Denver, Colorado, Wine Country Network, Inc, the producers of the Denver
    International Wine Festival and Competition have announced the winners for
    the 6th Annual Denver International Wine Competition. The competition was
    held on September 11 & 12, 2010 at The Omni Interlocken Resort, Broomfield,
    Colorado.

    Eighteen industry professionals participated in this two-day double blind
    competition. Approximately 120 consumers also attended a rare "Consumer's
    Choice" tasting of more than 180 of the competition's first day wines.

    In it's 6th year, the Denver International Wine Competition receives wine
    entries from around the globe. 2010 entries represented a 50% increase over
    2009. The judges awarded 170 medals, including double gold, gold, silver and
    bronze distinctions. The 2010 "Best of Show" winner was Cinquain Chardonnay
    2009 California, Monterey. The "Best Red Wine" award was tied by Coiled
    Wines Syrah, Snake River, Idaho and Andretti Winery's Dolcetto, Napa,
    California. The "Best Wine Label" winner was Cliff Family Winery for it's

      Vineyard Zinfandel, a Bronze Medal for their 2006 Late Harvest Red and a

      and a Silver Medal for their 2006 Merlot.

    The 4Th Annual Denver International Wine Competition is now open for business, accepting wine entries from domestic and International wineries. This competition and it's preceding, Denver International Wine Festival are produced by Wine Country Network,Inc.

    The Denver International Wine Competition is the premier international wine competition in the Rockies. Wines are tasted “double-blind” by a distinguished panel of judges including nationally known wine columnists, wine critics, retailers, food & beverage directors, wine industry members and experienced sommeliers.

    The 2008 Denver International Wine Competition is pleased to announce that The Warwick Denver Hotel and Randolph’s Restaurant & Bar have graciously agreed again to be the official hosts of this year’s competition.

    The Denver International Wine Competition blind tasting will be held September 13-14, 2008. The tasting is private and only open to our judges, staff and select members of the news media. Official entry forms and submission guidelines are now posted as PDF’s on this website.

    In addition to competing for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the best wines in more than 5o categories, wineries may enter a Wine Label Design Contest. Designs are judged by a prestigious panel of artists, retailers and marketing experts.

    Wine entries must be received no later than Friday August 15, 2008. Winners are announced within 48 hours of the judges tasting and posted on the official website.

    A selection of the Gold medal winning wines will be previewed at "The Taste of Elegance" Chef's Wine & Food Pairing Competition & Auction on Thursday October 30,2008, 6 to 9pm at The University of Denver, Hotel, Restaurant & Travel School (HRTM). 100% of the live and silent auction proceeds will benefit a newly formed scholarship fund.
